Chlamydia is a bacterial infection that is generally spreaded as a sexually transmitted disease. Symptoms include pain during intercourse or urination, vaginal discharge, swollon testicles, lower abdominal pain or spotting. Many people never have symptoms so it is impossible to tell if someone's partner is infected. Mostly, collage students are found to be have an active sexual life and hence are more vulnerable to STIs. That is why it is important to prevent the outbreak of such infections in a college campus. Some of the ways to prevent chlamydia infections are -

i. College institutions can play a major role in improving the sexual health of their students as a part of their curriculum by adding a routine preventative health care screenings program in the campus

ii. A variety of new and modern campus policies should be introduced that encourage students to share their concerns regarding their sexual health and appropriate education must be provided to them regarding the disease, risk factors, prevention and severity

iii. If someone had chlamydia and its treatment in the past, there still remains chances that they will get infected again and hence, proper medical history of every student before admission is important so as to take relevant precaution

iv. It is said that the best way avoid any transmission of STDs including chlamydia is to abstain from sexual activity. Hence, if possible college authorities should work on bringing regulations that limits such activities in or around the campus atleast

v. If the earlier point is not possible then the authorities should encourage the students the use of safe and protected sex like latex male and female condoms
