37. Gender Diversity.
The literature on leadership is predominantly focused on gender diversity. The leadership research vis a vis diversity has mainly focused on gender diversity. Gender parity, gender gaps, gender-biased, gender leadership positions, gender compensation. As people and organizations are learning how to leverage from gender diversity, people are putting more research and study how parity can be achieved which is still looking a distant. Pew Research Center in 2015 found how the gender gap is growing in leadership, as women are comprising 5.4 percent of Fortune 500 as CEOs and as board members women comprise 20% in Fortune 500 companies.
38. Influenced by other situational variables besides national culture.
Leadership behavior is influenced by a sum total of all situational variables and the same was demonstrated by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard in what they called situational leadership wherein they stated that leadership and its effectiveness are dependent and are heavily influenced by various situational factors. The situational factors may range from national factors, culture, values, and other contextual variables that have an important bearing on leadership.
