Galton (1869) was one of the first researchers to seriously study the creative person empirically. Do you agree with his observation that parents who are geniuses produced offspring’s who are geniuses? Also make argument that creativity can be trained (800 WORDS)
Galton (1869) was one of the first researchers to seriously study the creative person empirically. Do you agree with his observation that parents who are geniuses produced offspring’s who are geniuses He also created the statistical concept of correlation and widely promoted regression toward the mean. He was the first to apply statistical methods to the study of human differences and inheritance of intelligence, and introduced the use of questionnaires and surveys for collecting data on human communities, which he needed for genealogical and biographical works and for his anthropometric studies.
Galton's explorations into the mind difficult detailed recording of people's subjective accounts of whether and how their minds dealt with phenomena such as mental imagery. To better stimulate this information, he pioneered the use of the questionnaire.
In one study, he asked his fellow members of the Royal Society of London to describe mental images that they experienced. In another, he collected in-depth surveys from eminent scientists for a work examining the effects of nature and nurture on the propensity toward scientific thinking
Galton was a pioneer in eugenics, coining the term itself and the phrase nature versus nurture His book Hereditary Genius(1869) was the first social scientific attempt to study genius and greatness.
By the detective of the human mind, he founded psychometrics the science of measuring mental faculties and differential psychology and the lexical hypothesis of personality. He created a method for classifying fingerprints that proved useful in forensic science.
Galton clearly rejected the notion of the inheritance of acquired characteristics and was an early proponent of "hard heredity" through selection alone. He came close to rediscovering Mendel's particulate theory of inheritance, but was prevented from making the final breakthrough in this regard because of his focus on continuous, rather than discrete, traits now known as polygenic trait). He went on to found the biometric approach to the study of heredity, distinguished by its use of statistical techniques to study continuous traits and population-scale aspects of heredity
Creaitiviy
Creativity is a skilful talent of humans in thinking, inference, problem solving, and product development. The cognitive foundation of creativity is a new and unusual relation, neurophysiologically represented by a synaptic connection, between two or more objects that generates a novel and meaningful concept, solution, method, explanation, or product.
Possibly before, creative thinking is simply what it implies, and creativity is something we all have, learn, and potentially unlearn at various stages of our journey .Measured creativity to the mixture of strong memory, brilliant imagination, lateral thinking, a personality approaching (yet not breaching) narcissistic and some form of technical training. As with most abilities, and even if in this case a genetic support is required, creativity is most probably a synergy between nature and nurture. And stochastic events in the life of a potentially creative person, in order for this ability to flourish, are not to be ignored.
Now the cognitive process, the first-phase of creativity is search-based for discovering a novel relation; while the second-phase of creativity known as justification is inductive and logical.
Many factor seems to be an inborn element to them, but the correct environment and training seem essential as well. People who appear to be a natural at something have probably worked very hard for many years to develop their skills.

According to my opinion I am not agree with Galton theory because in vew of genetic when parent are genius than there is only one fourth of probability to produced offspring genius or creative idea. Some research suggest that genetics accounts for only a small proportion of people’s creativity. So it’s much more likely that children learn to be creative from their parents or environment only. So I feel that it is safe to say that creative geniuses are not born, they’re made. Natural talent can only take you so far. The rest is all hard work
Example
There are so many example like singer ,doctor ,witter ,dancer parent not necessary to produce their offspring of same quality . Albert Einstein had three children his first wife, Mileva Marić. They were Lieserl Einstein, Hans Albert Einstein, and Eduard Einstein but all are not genius as the Einstein was.
If we hard work and learn from environment and practices daily than it is easier and we learn to become creavite and genius that is why there are many programm for learning and became effective to make it possible
So we can say that genius and creavitiy is to be learn from the outside world not by the acquired from the genes of parent.
