You were the project manager in charge of building a house in Ashburn, Virginia. The house was a five-bedroom home estimated to cost $1.2 million dollars and had to be completed in 24 months. You have successfully built the house within cost and on time. You created a Project Budget, Project Schedule, Project Communication Plan, and Project Monitoring and Control Processes Plan for some unexpected schedule and cost problems. Now, develop a lessons-learned document for your organization and the project stakeholders. A lessons-learned document describes procurement closure activities including administrative and contract closure activities. This lessonslearned document must include what went well, what went wrong, and suggestions for future house-building projects in Northern Virginia, which looks promising since your team was so successful in this house-building project. Explain why this document is important for your project.

This question has been asked in here twice. Both times it was given the same bad answer. If you are going to answer with that same answer again, please just don't answer it.

When it comes to the construction industry, Service delivery can be seen as one of the most important aspects. All the services must be facilitated as promised to the clients and layouts and other facilities must be delivered as per the designs, the finishing and more significantly the time schedule. This will really help in winning the trust of the clients and it could lead to the future referral for construction services and proper management of projects.

It is vital to have proper research on the costs of different construction items in the market and the data must be compiled for making sure that no loopholes are prevailing in terms of major price variations which can really hamper the quality of the construction of the house. Thus it is important to have sufficient budget and it must be matching the financial ability of the client. Having the acceptance of item quality from the client is very important as it will make the client prepare for the quality of construction and this will also determine whether they are looking some kind changes.

Project communication plan is quite essential in which the progress in the construction is communicated to the clients and this also informs them how soon they can have the ownership of the house. Communication is very important for preparing the clients psychologically about the progress made.

In construction, project monitoring and control is the key. The strength of being comprehensive and efficient in the activities of monitoring and control of project lies in the fact that the things are accomplished and progress is observed for a different activity and determining how well things are managed. Control can be seen as the ability to manipulate and regulate the operations of the projects. Thus undermining the efficiency in monitoring and controlling can boomerang.

There will be some plans which follow the schedule while some will go hay way and there will be some which somehow accomplish the targeted results If the budgeting is done efficiently and different costs are cross-checked then it will really prove very nice as there will be no shortcoming of project funds. Manpower is of ultimate significance as they should be able to perform their duties with little supervision and must be able to fulfill the targets given by project manager.

Challenges that hampered the project were the delay in delivery of work materials and the weather. This did slow down the construction as the workmen had to wait for the delivery of construction materials.

This document is really important because it is an outline of what needs to be done for one to have a successful project and the things to do to ensure that they get into challenges and how to address them.
