GABA receptors is an ionotropic receptor and its endogeneous is Y amniobutyric acid (GABA),the major inhibitory system in the neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.Benzodiazepene do not bind to the same receptor site as endogenous ligand (GABA) .The brain has 3 types of GABA receptors ,GABAa,GABAb and GABAc.GABAa are targets for ethano, barbiturates ,BenzodiapineGABA receptors have long been the focus for alchohol with evidence of behaviourally for low evidence millimolar actions on tonic GABA currents.

GABA release into the synaptic cleft by depolarization of presynaptic neurons. The action of GABA at the synapse is terminated by reuptake into both presynaptic nerve terminals and sorronding glial cells.

MDMA is a psychoactive drug, known as ecstasy, mainly used as recreational drug.It gives a feeling of euphoria and heightened sensations High dose of MDMA is known to cause dysphoria, antipsychotic effects, neurotoxity, cognitive impairment, acute kidney failure, respiratory problems, hallucinations, convulsions, coma.

Many medications used by medical experts to treat cocaine .Naltrexone can be used to reduce cocaine intake without producing opid dependance .Some medications are used to treat during detoxification periods but for relapse certain medications are used. They help to calm the nervous system to prevent anger, anxiety.Using cocaine for long periods of time affect the natural production of neurotransmitters.Medications are Gabapentin to prevent seizures and enhance the neurotransmission,Modafinifl to prevent fatigue and drowsiness associated with withdrawal symptoms,Topirimate to ease agitation,Baclofen to release GABA and a muscle relaxant.
