As most frequently HIPPA comes tomind when health informtaion privacy is discussed .However , the concept of the  patient confidentiality has been around for much longer . Confidentiality in the   health care refers to the patient records or communication to hold that information in confidence . Confidentiality is recognized by the law as privileged communication between two parties in a professional relationship such as with a patient and a physician , a nurse or other clinical professional . for example ;- the Mental Health and Development Disabilities Confidentiality Act offers detailed requirements for access , use and disclosure of confidential patient information including for legal proceedings .

Privacy , as distinct from the   confidentiality is viewed as the right of the individual client or the patient to be let alone and to make decisions about the how personal information is shared .

Here is my personnal experience , as when I share my room with two friends ane is the psychiatrist  and the another one is the lawyer . , there was the case that recently goes on the issues of the victim a rape girl maya , she has cased on the rapist inteh court ,whose opposite party 's defendent has taken by may roomate . And the girl was so depressed at that time , that she has consult with the psychiatrist (my roomate ) . I was remember that night, when the victim girl has taken the  seesion in a day and when my friend came at home at night , my another roomate (lawyer ) has asked about the victim girl that " did she speaks truth ?, or making some drama , did she really a victim ? tell me about more of her ." . but thedoctor hasn't reply on her question she said " Its my patient personal data I can't share with you , whether you are my roomate or not " . she finds her bag and goes to colleagues home for staying at night . she really maintain the doctor and patient relationship very well . In ,clinic she confidentilly procced the procedure without discrimination and at home she proves that she in medical professional by maintaing the privacy of teh patient personal information .
