Which of the following represents the best description of difference between mitosis and meiosis in the male? please be SPECIFIC AND EXPLAIN. FOR A AND P2

Solutions

Expert Solution

In Male both Mitosis and mieosis are similar process in giving new ones from existing ones. However they differ in their specific process as well as their products.

MITOSIS- Asexual process which occurs in Somatic cells. Mitosis will produce two daughter cells, each will result in identical diploid cell. Mitosis involved in cell growth and repair process. And most important no crossing over occurs during this process.

MEIOSIS- Sexual process which occurs in Germ cells. Meiosis will produce daughter cells which are non identical haploid in nature. It is called reduction division becuase to maintain chromose number in gametes during fertilization to result a diploid individual.crossing over occurs between homologous chromosomes which results in varaitions.
