Social Information Processing-Social Media Agility
The social information processing theory refers to the computer mediated communications without non verbal cues and how people develop and manage the relationships in a computer based environment. Theory argues that the online interpersonal relationship may demonstrate or represent the relationship and qualities of the same of a face to face relationship. These online relationships do not hold the limitations of a face to face relationship. Geography and anxiety are often removed from the kind of online relationships.
The advantages of the online relationship of reduced anxiety, less pressure than in face to face relationships will all helps the social media agility to be better than that of face to face relationships. Also, the ability of the online relations to communicate in the same way the face to face one does, reduced negative effects in the people will helps the online relations to understand, accept and adopt things faster than the face to face one does, which is indicated by the word agility. The process of encoding, mental representation, response accessing, evaluation etc. are made easy and fast in the online relationships as suggested by the social information process. Thus, social media agility is supported best in the social information process with same quality of face to face relations and avoiding the negative effects of the same.
