Type a professional email towards the supervisor of a pretend Starbucks. Identify three COMMUNICATION challenges within Starbucks, and propose solutions to each of the challenges, grounding these solutions in business communication concepts you are learning in this class. The email should include ALL the elements below and be nearly a page in length.
You will write an appropriate email message to your supervisor for Starbucks (an upward communication example of an audience-centered message) introducing the reason for the project and outlining three challenges you identified and three recommendations you will present in your PPT presentation (due next week). You come up with the communication challenges and solutions!
Your email message must be written using professional language and should include the following elements:
Dear Operations Manager,
I have been tasked with identifying the communication challenges facing Starbucks in light of the recent events of national importance. The project would involve identifying the issues, brainstorming solutions and submitting a Power Point Presentation (PPT) covering the entire gamut of the issue.
Racism has been a burning issue in over the decades and much progress have neverthless been made. Still a number of areas arer crying out for atttention even in Starbucks. Last adverse event had following characteristics which is an indicator of the malaise in system. Slowness in reacting to a ill treatment of a person of color by the organization and resolving the issue was widely cited as a major failure. The processes adopted by the company in resolving issue was unclear and it seemed to outsiders that nothing much was being done. Lack of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) both in prevention of such incidents from occuring as well as how to address the same was missing.
It is requried that in future, appropriate action is taken in case of any race related issue quickly and without wasting time. Public must be kept in loop about the action taken by the organization to punish the guilty person and the same needs to be communicated effectively. Organization needs to develop and circulate appropriate SOP with regard to such instances among employees. Periodic follow up needs to be done to ensure that all employees follow the same without fail.
