Sol-1: Legislation is one of the most powrful weapons for improving population heath and is often used by policy and dicission makers.

We conceptualised legislative interventions as acomplex social interventions and so used the realist synthesis method to systematically review the literature for evidence Throughtout the review we continued where needed to search for additional studies of any type that would conceptually contribute to helping build our framework.

it is possible to develop a coherent and transferable evidence based framework of the ideas and assumptions behind the threats to lagislative intervention that may assist policy and desission maker to analyse and judge if legislation is feasible likely to sucessed.

How can legislation impact on nutrition professions?

Sol-2: Federal policies and programmes that influence the supply and prices of agricultural products indirectly affect food choices and nutrient consumtion. The government has a role to provide nutrition guidance and encourage the advancement of nutrition research and industry food reformulation.

In the developing nation there are three main objectives for food policy (i) to protect the poor from crises,(ii) to develop long run markets that enhance efficient resource use and (iii) to increase food production that will in turn an increse in income.

The purpose of the food and nutrition policy is an attempt to significantly improve the nutritional status of the people, particularly vulnerable groups including the elderly and thereby contribute to the improvement in the quality of life in the socio economic development.

Nutrition profession is responsible to promote health within their practice. this means doing their job well in terms of treating patients,but also taking an active role in the promotion of disease prevention.
