In 3-5 paragraphs please explain why the role and purpose of the modern union need to be redefined to effectively serve its membership?
Union refers to an organisation of individuals who come together and form a group to achieve or attain certain goal which are common to them like increase in their wages, good working conditions, better work incentives etc The main role of a union is to get their demans fulfilled through their protests and thus is sometimes beneficial or harmful for the organisation. The roles and purpose of modern union needs to be redefined so that there may not be any problems that could lead to it’s break down.
The union nowadays are focused more towards achieving a mutual agreement between the employer and the employee so that they can reach a consensus. The role is to form a group as the say of people becomes stronger when more and more people from the organisation joins it and this helps to achieve their goals more easily. The roles and purpose of its formation needs to be taken more seriously so that it helps the union in getting their work done.
The union nowadays should bring some rules to its formation and regulation as earlier the union used to get violent and started breaking the business entities property but that led to the downfall in their strategy as instead of acheiving their objective tsome of the members lost their jobs. But now they should follow some rules that would lead to fulfillment of their goals. They should protest in some convntional way and not affect in any way the preoperfy of the the business. This would enable them to achieve their goals.
These little changes would enable the union to achieve their objectives effectively and could be more useful than the old method or technique.
