E-Health possesse numerous advantages which makes it quite a popular method in current world.

  • It is largely helpful for the old age group, it makes them easier to carry out tasks of health care check ups with an ease. Due to increase in population of old age people, the struggle of this group of people for using the healthcare is being difficult timely. But due tonthe introduction of E-health systems it makes them easier to attain their needs. Like, they can book an appointment from home, collect their datas properly using e gadgets and store and send them for later uses easily. Theybcan choose to sharenor not the all available data with specific health care professionals as oer their convenience and understand their problems and solution to such and such illness very easily.

  • Another great usefulness of e-health isbthat the physician can correlate all the history of patient at once when they send it and he doesnt need to ask for it again and again and can use the date whenever he wants to correlate and allows him a wider scope of investigation and diagnosis.
  • It also enables discussion over certain subjects and record between multiple institutions easier and gives a wider munber of opinions and options.
  • It is useful for people in remote places for their healthcare managements where they can seek help easily in times if emergencies.

All these usfulness have severe positive impact on adoption and implementation of e-health all over the world.

Part 2: Challenges associated with adopting e-health.

Just like having advantages, e-health have it's own disadvantages making it question in it's adoption.

(1) Financial.

Financial barrier is one of the main disadvantage of e-health. It takes a lot of financial amount to establish e-health. Financial problem is faced at every levels including family lever which makes it hard for families to have equipments useful for using e-health and also for physcians and institutions to organise e-health system. It also takes more man power to organise this so it costs lot more financial problems. These are very evident from a direct look and has to be dealt fo the successful adoption of e-health system. Two methods that will help in reducing financial problems can be:

  • Providing near by e-health operation centres for each neighborhood for the low cost use of it by every families. This step reduces the need of buying e-health accessories in every household and they can use the common centres whnever they want when it's near to their house and make it easy and economical.
  • Educate the workers on the usage of electronic and application level aspects of e-health systems. This reduces the need of extra man power for maintenaning the technology when a doctor or nurse can manage the e-health files and thus makes it economical.

(2) Social/Cultural beliefs

Social and cultural beliefs were always a hindrance in healthcare providing and introduction of e-health makes it more problematic.

People always have the tendancy to stick on what they believe and it is not always easy for them to accept new things.

Acceptance and trust in e-health over the normal healthcare structure is lesser in areas where cultural norms are strict.

They are not always ready or are afraid to use e-health. This is very serious to deal with as there comes delays in seeking e-health even during emergencies and makes several complications. This can be reduced by:

  • Educating people about the usage and benefits of e-health and improving their trust in the system. Teaching them how to use it easily and how it can reduce the financial and other stress will make help them accept new methods
  • Including people among them in the delivery of e-health. People often believe people among them. When their own people tell them how safe and useful the systems is, their acceptance and trust is improved.
