During the second half of the tweinth century , managed care
developed in the United States as a mechanism for constraining the
growth of health care cost by controlling the delivery system . In
the private health industry , manged care palms controlled costs
and the delivery of care by restricting hospital utilisation, such
as admission and length of stay , by limiting access to specialists
. The annual percent change in per capita health spending in the
nation declined from 5-6.9 between 1991 and 1993 to 2.0-2.2 between
1994 and 1996 . The term e- commerce refers to use of electronic
information technologies to conduct business transactions among
buyers , sellers and other trading partners . It allows traditional
business transactions to be conducted electronically , ignoring the
physical or geographic boundaries separating them.
Linking EHR to CPOE
Linking electronic health record to computerised physicians order entry to reduce the medical errors . Physicians get to order directly not through the unit secretary. No handrwritting involved as physicians get to work through a digital interface .
