What are the different types of cancer?
Defination of Cancer-
Cancer is basically a disease in which there is uncontrolled growth of cells in a part of body due to gene mutation. This mutation is caused by subtances called Carcinogens.
TYPES OF CANCER-
1. CARCINOMA
2.SARCOMA
3.MELANOMA
4.LEUKEMIA
5.LYMPHOMA
6.MYELOMA
1. CARCINOMA- cancer that begins in tissue that lines inner and outer surface of body generally arises from the cell originating in the ectoderm and endoderm during embryogenesis.
TYPES OF CARCINOMA -
1.1 Sqamous cell carcinoma
1.2 Basal cell carcinoma
1.3 Transitional cell carcinoma
1.4 Adeno carcinoma
2.SARCOMA- Cancer which develops in connective tissue.
TYPES OF SARCOMA-
2.1 Osteosarcoma - bone
2.2 Chondrosarcoma - cartilage
2.3 Liposarcoma - fat deposit
2.4 Leiomyosarcoma - smooth muscle
3.MELANOMA- Originated in any part of body which contain melanocytes which is usually skin.
TYPES OF MELANOMA-
3.1 Superficial Spreading melanoma - caused on arms, legs, Chest.
3.2 Nodular Melanoma- chest, neck, head
3.3 lentigomalinga melanoma- Face and neck
3.4 Acral lentiginous Melanoma - smooth muscle.
4. LEUKEMIA- Leukemia is a cancer in blood cells usually white blood cells.
TYPES OF LEUKEMIA-
4.1 Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML)- can occur in both adult and children.
4.2 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia(CLL)- mostly in children.
4.3 Chronic myelogenous leukemia(CML)- mostly adults.
4.4 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) - caused in people who are more than 55 years of age.
5. LYMPHOMA- lymphoma is a cancer which is caused in lymphatic system.
TYPES OF LYMPHOMA-
5.1 B-cell lymphoma
5.2 Burkitt Lymphoma
5.3 Follicular lymphoma
5.4 Mantle cell lyphoma
5.5 Primary Mediastinal B cell Lymphoma
5.6 Lymphoplasmacytic Lymphoma
6.MYELOMA- myeloma is a blood cancer arising from plasma cells.
TYPES OF MYELOMA-
6.1 Light chain myeloma- produced in light chain immunoglobins.
6.2 Non secretory Myeloma
