Major points in health education include in pre-transplant education and after discharge.

Pre transplant education includes

Gives explanation regarding important drugs used after transplant like immunosuppressant therapy, antibiotics and all. 4. Discribe about pre- operative preparation which include tissue typing ,Laboratory tests , x ray , Ecg, and pre renal transplant evaluation which included fitness of the patient, his blood type matching with donor tissue etc.

5. Teaches post operative expectations after surgery like rejection or any other unsuccessful possibilities.

These are important patient education in pre transplant period. After surgery health education gives regarding importance of diet (renal diet), exercise, hygiene to prevent infection, importance of follow up clinics and regular intake of medications on time.
