Balancing School and Life - My Quality of Life Self-Care Plan. The purpose of developing this Plan is to set a framework and a plan to maintain wellness and to stay motivated and engaged throughout your Program. Doing this will help you achieve success during your coursework and as a professional nurse.

The goal of the Project is to help you become self-aware and reflective as a means of identifying personal self-care strategies that will increase your energy and help you manage your stress. The Project will give you a chance to learn how this is accomplished as you will be doing similar work with clients during the Program and as a professional nurse to assist them in the same way.

Use the Quality of Life Self-Care Wheel to assess your current state. After you determine your scores, in a 2-3 page paper complete the following:

  • Discuss those areas that are strengths (higher scores) and those areas that need further development (lower scores).
  • Identify two strategies you can use to maintain or maximize each identified strength.
  • Identify two strategies you can use to strengthen each area needing development. Explain how you will put these strategies into action. Be specific. For example, instead of stating, "I need to exercise," your action should state "I will begin to walk 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week." The action should be SMART- Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timeframe
  • Also attach your completed form
  • Minimum length 2-3 pages not including cover or referencing. APA formatting

Quality of life self care plan wheel score is useful to know about ourselves. When I assess my quality of life self care score, the score is 5.there is some area show high score and other area show low score. This score help me to identify my strong area as well as my week area. I think evaluation of this score help me to plan my life to acheive a high score. My targeted score is 9 and I am trying to my all areas of life to achieve desired score.

Now I am clearly identify the weakest and strongest area in my life.the strongest area is occupational and nursing career, intellectual,social and physical health.

:in occupational and nursing career area ,I am more conscious about my career and take necessary action to develop my career. I engaged in school activities at proper time. I have greater intellectual wellness by answering questions and engage the activities that enhance my knowledge .I am able to work under any circumstances ,and critically think about problems in our careers.

:the other stronger area is physical health. For maintaining this physical health I am able to practice healthy habits.

:other strongest area is social. I can able to kept good social relationship and social interaction. I think I am socially acceptable person. I respect public interactions and I am active in social activities.

The weakest area

:i think I am weak in keeping spiritual well being. I know the spiritual well being is necessary for peaceful mind and maintain harmony but I don't have enough time to spend time for spiritual activities .

Strategies to improve my strongest area

:my life perspective is discussed with experienced person and review the effectiveness of each strategy.

The occupational, intellectual social physical Health area is my strongest area strategies for improve those area include,

:improve inter personal communication and follow healthy habits.

:update knowledge at correct time.

:involve in all social activities and aware about current affairs.  

:participate in seminars and work shops that will help to enhance knowledge.

Strategies to improve my weakest areas

Spiritual and emotional health is my weakest area. The strategies to improve those areas include

:take participate in spiritual activities.

:apply measure to control emotions and express feelings.

How this strategies implement

Spiritual development:participate spiritual worship 3 days in a week and spend at least 2 hours.Read the religious books and Holy Bible every day at least half an hour.

Emotional developments :express feeling when it occurs.

Occupational, health and intellectual developments :study the subject matter every day and at least 4 hours per day.answer the question every day. Engage activities like Seminars and workshop that will enhance knowledge.practice well in clinical experience, do all nursing care with proper manner and evaluate the effectiveness of care. Update professional knowledge by reading and gathering more information .

Physical health is maintained by following healthy habits like eat nutritious rich diet, avoid use of alcohol, smoking and substance use and do exercise daily at least one hour each day.
