1. The efforts made include a good academic record and especially good scores in the field of employment that I want to target. Thus if I want to target finance jobs then I need to have good economics and business studies scores. Also good extra curricular activities is a must also. This will lead to an attractive resume.

2. Having excellent communicative skills can set a candidate apart from the crowd and this enables a competitive advantage over other candidates. This is not something that all candidates possess and will ensure cracking interviews.

3. Social networking is the best way to build a network and also partcipating in workshops would also be a way to form a professional network. That is interact with people across colleges.

4. Obtaining a job through alliances can be through word of mouth by asking someone known in a company to forward your CV and then promote it. Also connecting with a variety of people through linkedin also allows a wider network. The formation of such alliances is something that happens over time and this can be built upon to obtain a job.
