What are the consequences of noncompliance on key stakeholders outside the organization (e.g., patients, members, providers, taxpayers)?
In general, Compliance is term mainly refered to the Rules, Regulations, Laws and Policies that an Organization has to abide by. It is an basic essential need to protect an Organization and its Stakeholders. When Non-compliance becomes peril to the respected person and at the same time to the Organization which impact Bad Impression. And may also lead to the Financial Losses, Security Breaches, License Revocations, Poor Patient Care and Business Disruptions, even though it is outside of the Organization.
Example preference:
1] Patient Non-Compliance: This is a serious problem which not only
affects the patient but also the health care system. It refers
generally on the specified person of following their medications
regurarly as prescribed and the factor is to get the treatment
success. Often referred as ADHERENCE (Physician-Patient
Collaboration).
This leads to consequences such as :
i. Low quality of life
ii. Disease Progression
iii. Waste of Medication
iv. Worsening of disease.
v. Primary Non Adherence { in which the providers write
prescription but the medication is never filled or initiated to
intake by the patient }
vi. Non Persistence Adherence { here the Patient decide to take
medication and happens of miscommunication between them }
vii. Tertiary stage of adherence consist of the
medication never taken in concern }
2] Work environment pose risk to members exposing them to work back on their Organizations or may be the surrounding that pays them way to become non-compliance against workplace. It is usually the Behavior of the member/caregiver who fails to coincide with a health-promoting or therapeutic plan agreed.
3] Providers: Providers are the major stakeholder of being
noncompliance in any field. Unless the provider support there can't
be work that usually goes. Consequences to be faced by them will
encompass the following such as
i. Financial Penalties
ii. Audits { that leads to unnecessary inspection }
iii. Law requirements { Registered organizations are obligated by
law to follow rules and regulations}
iv. Market Reputation and shut down of the company
v. Imprisonment { Non-compliance cases and imprisonment of director
or board members}
4] Taxpayers: Consequences of Income Tax are summoned to comprehensive summary of the empirical evidence concerning the respected taxpayer's noncompliance and presents innovative research of Audits, Enforcement Activities, and threat of criminal enforcement.
Non-compliance on medicinal field involves Breaching health and
Safety Regulations and all organizations have a common Law to
ensure the working environment is safe for the employees and
customers too. Each non compliance has a monetary Penalty attached
with it for which the organization should also pay.
Reputation, Severity, Loss of opportunities, Increased
trouble of future processing, Governing Authorities, Hippa
violations and non-compliance in healthcare are the costly
and most backward consequences faced. Now-a-days it is even arduous
to find the originality of organization or healthcare systems
because of the bifurcation on every specific management.
