what are the methods to evaluate the effect of high-speed and high dynamic load on volumetric errors at the tool center point.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Volumetric errors comprises of 37 error components that would separately effect the geometry and dimensional accuracy of the tools. This error is increased by the high speed and high dynamic load on the tool that is being used and these needs to be evaluated and minimized by various methods that are being discussed below.

  • The interpolator output signals as well as the machine decoder signals should be recorded and after that after that they should be compared with each axis to evaluate the error.
  • The above signals should also be compared with the actual tool center point to get the desired error.
  • A non contact measuring instrument CapBall should be used to evaluate the total geometric errors as they are comparatively more suitable for the tools.

The above are some of the methods that can be used to evaluate the effects of the high speed and high dynamic load on volumetric errors at the tool center point. These are occurred on the five axis high speed machine tools that are being operated on high speeds and sufficiently high dynamic load is also acting on it which will increase the possibility of its wear and tear and the amount of geometric errors caused due to it.
