Asian Americans represent a significant part of a population,.They are in terms of percentage increase,the fastest growing ethnic groupin the united states.The Asian-American population is not only the fastest growing but also the most diverse ethnic groups n ternms of cultural backgrounds,countries of origin,and circumstances for coming in the united states.Asian Americans have been found to have limited health liteacy and often to have limited beliefs regarding disease that in turn can prevent them from seeking healthcare services,thus leading to poorer health outcomes.Additionally if the prevalnt belief based on the studies with non representative samples is that Asian rarely have breast cancer,Asian immigrant women might not seek regular screenings.The first generation of Asian Americans,especially te elderly,tends to hold different beliefs n healthcare.For example,many seek healthcare only when their sympoms are severe enough as not t be resolved with standard preventive care research within
past 20 years,however hs shown that Asian Americans are at high risk for hepatitis B,liver cancer,tuberculosis and lung cancer,among other conditions.Cardiovascular disease is one f the lading killers in all ethnic groups.A number of studes have revealed that ASIAN Americans ares suffering from low self esteem and higher levels of depression.In Asian Americans,somany infections remained unnoticed until they develop serious symptoms,and by then the infection mayhave led to cancer.The are the least likely to have visited a physician within the past 12 months.They also have physical barriers like lackof transportation fecilities prevent seeking health care.They have language barrier and have a simila incidence of mental disorders as European Americans
