The risk factors of the metabolic syndrome are

- Increase blood pressure: Increase in blood pressure increase the chances of stroke and electrolyte imbalance.

- high blood sugar level: Increase the blood sugar level increase the chances of developing diabetes Mellitus

- obesity: More fat deposition is the main cause of metabolic syndrome.

- high triglyceride levels: Increase in the triglyceride level have a high chance to develop the cardiac or heart diseases.

- low level of good cholesterol or HDL: HDL is the good cholesterol which helps to control the cholesterol level in the body. Decrease in HDL leads to increase in the cholesterol level and has high chances to develop cardiovascular diseases.

- Age: With increase in the age there is high chances to develop metabolic syndrome.

- Lifestyle: Those people who consume over fat contain food, smoking, alcohol, etc. have a chance to develop metabolic syndrome.

- Family history: In the family if any one have metabolic syndrome have a high chances to develop in his or her children in their future.
