intervention to balance somatic pain

somatic pain is a type of nociceptive pain that includes skin pain ,tissue pain or muscle pain.Nerves that detect somatic pain are located in skin and deep tissues.somatic pain can be either superficial or deep.somatic pain occurs the pain receptors in tissues are activated,typically stimuli assosiated with these are force,temperature,vibration,or swelling activate these receptors.additionally somatic pain can be confined to a local area or spread across larger area depending upon the extent of the injury.
Nonpharmacological methods are best intervention for a nurse to balance these kinds of somatic pain.Non pahrmacological methods include relaxation, distraction, imagery, light massage . heat and cold applications can reduce swellings and can contol these kinds of somatic pains to a great extent.cognitive behavioural stratergies can be used to restore patients self control, personal efficacy, active participation in their own care.
