Neonatal/Child Health
The reasons for different levels of child illness and disease in different parts of same country are
a) preterm birth and neonatal disorders
b) malnutrition
c) maternal illness
d) poor sanitation
e) poverty
these reasons are more in developing countries than develouped countries.
2. Some cost-effective interventions made by W.H.O to prevent above mentioned reasons by proper immunization programme , adequate nutition,safe water and food supply, quality care by a trained health care provider when needed.
3. over the last two centuries all countries inthe world have made very rapid progress against child mortality. from I950 to 20I5 mortality rate has declined to 4.5% . every country in the world agreed UN's sustainable develoupment goals in 20I5.Goal 3.2 is to reduce the child mortality rate to at least as low as 2.5%in all countries by 2030. This would mean that more than 97.5% of all new borns would survive the first five years of life. We know that most child deaths today are preventable.W.H.O response who calls on member states to address health quality through universal health coverage . so that all children are able to access essential health services without undue financial hardship.
infectious disease havealways been one of the major cause of child deaths but the success of vaccination campaigns and antibiotic availability has done a great deal to reduce mortality rate. today we have vaccine for T.B, meningitis hepatitis, wooping cough, influanza and pneumococal vaccine.
