Drug name - Prazosin hydrochloride

Class- alpha blocker

Uses- Prazosin works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Prazosin is used to treat:-

                     - high blood pressure.
                     - helps prevent strokes, heart attacks,            
                           and kidney problems.

Side effects:- Most common side effects associated with prazosin include:-
-Nausea
-dizziness
-headache
-drowsiness
-weakness
-palpitations


Nursing interventions of prazosin are as follow:-
             -Monitor patient's blood pressure and        pulse rate.


            -Monitor patient compliance
            -If first dose is more than 1 mg, First dose syncope may occur.
            -Educate the patient about weight loss, exercise programs.
             -Provide complementary therapies to promote stress reduction
