The Trade Unions are considered for the protection of Workers in factories, companies and etc. The Trade Union Movements are had major role in the making of different labour laws. There were a time, labours were supposed to work like slaves. There were no rights for labours, they were worked without any rules. The employees were not provided even basic facilities, such as sanitized toilets, Good working environment. They were working in a hazardous environment and they were not given any safety measurements.

There is bo better place to study the trade Union Movement than India. Because India is the largest democratic country and in India the trade movements started very late as compared to the western countries. Trade Union Movements in India have a major role in providing an established labour law, which provide certain rights to the labour and free the labours from the unhealthy system of working. The Trade Union Movement have a good role in providing the basic rights to labours.

The Trade Union Movements in India was started in the late 1800s and it strengthen in the beginning of 1900s. While the labour movements in America started in the mid and late 1700s. In India the movement was first started from the Bombay textile mills. The demand of the movement was to provide basic rights to the labour. A fixed time for work, to get decent wage, healthy working condition and etc. were the demand of this movement.

The trade unions are satisfied their roles than any other movements in India. The trade unions are working for the welfare of the labours and without an organisations it is very difficult to labours to get organised for their rights. The Trade Unions are still active in many matters and are demanding many things, such as salary hike in many industries, more allowances to labours and etc are the examples.
