Working as an engineer at the firm for 25 years. Poor interpersonal skills while his knowledge and experiences of automobile engineering are superior. While he does not talk so much, he can explain things very well. He has strong pride as an engineer with sufficient experiences, knowledge, and education. He likes to be called as Dr. Weaver. His promotion opportunity is very limited and he knows that. While he has no problem about his income and fringe benefits, he thinks he could earn more. He is very loyal to the company..
Dr. Weaver comes across as an introverted but a very technical person with a command of technical expertise in automobile engineering. Clearly his interests lay in engineering works. Since Dr Weaver is still the senior engineer, he has some growth opportunities ahead in terms of being the departmental head or head of R&D. However, this would require him to develop his interpersonal skills. Heading a department will allow him to undertake more challenging projects. Providing him with this growth opportunity will motivate weaver to take the challenge of developing his interpersonal skills. People with a technical background are happier to see their knowledge taking shape in practical applications. Providing Dr. weaver with the satisfaction of working on new projects and grooming him for the future will be a good way to motivate him and keep him going. Income and finances are not a problem for Dr. weaver and he can earn more if he is ready to improve his communication with others and peers as these peoples references and feedback are considered for leadership roles. This is the intangible effect which takes place on salary. People with good interpersonal skills earn more often. Hence, it would be good for Dr weaver to undergo training program and than take on the leadership challenge to develop himself.
