How do the child’s age, developmental level, family situation, community and state of health affect the way the nurse conducts a health history?

Relate those findings of the conduction of health history to a child at the Children’s shelter, Haven for Hope or Parents Night Out?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer: The factors such as child’s age, developmental level, family situation, community and state of health affect the way the nurse conducts a health history. This is because the age of the child reveals about the growth and development. If the child is too young to explain about the his symptoms or he is restless then it becomes difficult for the nurse to collect all the subjective and objective datas. Similarly, in the case where child is being abused or family relations are not good, requires more attention as they might be violent, depressed or aggressive in nature. So, these things directly influence the nurse assessment.

In the case where the children lives in children's shelter and do not have parents, basically they requires further more attention. Some of the children are unable to express themselves, sometimes this group children requires special care and treatment. Hence factors influences the nursing assessment.
