1 The responsibilites of the modern day health care providers are vivid and challenging.One of the paramount responsibilities of health care providers are giving dignity to patients coming from vibrant ethnic backgrounds.Due to varied cultural practices and customs,of each culture.it is indeed difficult to maintain the diginity and honour of each culture.Understanding various cultural practices is necessary ,especially while working in a multicultural society.Inorder to be succesfeul one needs to be culturally competent.Cultural norms are diverse and specific.So it takes time for the health care provider to get acquainted with it.Linguistic barrier is one of the major concerns while living in a multicultural society.When health care providers take time to solve the problems of the patient.This will bring more co-operation as well as patient satisfaction.On the other hand it will reduce the length of hospital stay and medication errors.

2 African Americans-They are citizens or residents of US who may origins in any of the black populations in Africa.Prolonged eye contact may be interpreted as rudiness and personal questions asked on initial contact with a person maybe viewed as intrusive.

Asian Americans-Americans of Asian descent.Be aware of physical boundaries,request permission to touch the client before doing so.limit eyecontact.Avoid gesturing with hands.if possible a female client prefers a female health care provider.

Hindus doesnt eat pork .But there are medicines such as insulin which is based on pork based ingredients .

3 When we take pains to understand the different cultural practices i could see that i build up a trusting relationship with the patient.This is much better than the one way approach.So in this way i will be able to come up with better optionswhich satisfy everyone involved.Therefore treatment and other medical options should be explained to the patient with the cultural preference in mind.By performingthe above said acts one will be able to do their job in a culturally sensitive way.
