The role of a hospital due pandemic for public health preparedness is crucial. These preparations to manage the vast outbreak of infection or emergency is not only made by the governmental agencies or hospital but also by non governmental agencies, satke holder of various sectors, public and private hospitals, financial institutions, diaster management organizations. They support and contribute to the hospital preparedness through policy guidance, health sector and intersectoral coordination for emergency preparedness and response and provision of water, power and medical supplies and equipments.

• The organization have a diaster management team which is designed to ensure the effective management of internal and external disaster.
• The staffs of the team is well aware of their roles in preparing and responding to an emergency. They have been well trained to perform specific actions needed during emergency and simultaneously perform day to day care activities.
• Various lines of communication are developed to communicate between different departments within hospital, between different hospitals, between hospitals, public health authorities,local service providers.
• The physical, mental, social and emotional needs of the staff and families are also attended.
• Adequate supply of resource during emergency is a great task but this requirement may vary according to the nature of the emerging pandemics.
• The organization have also prepared with various transportation facilities to transport the causalities as early as possible to a safer place and to seek medical services as quick as possible.
• Along with the treatment of chronic and acute illness, the public health preparedness is done by various community health oureach activities like immunizations antenatal care, various laboratory services for early prevention and indentification of cases.
• The community members is also trained to act effectively in this stressful situation.
• Health education regarding the emerging pandemic infection will also help the public to have a good understaning about the prevention and control measures.

The facility and practice is adequate to meet the demands of a large volume of infected patients if the various departments and authorities work hand in hand.
