Personality is the sum total of all the aspects of individual’s functioning. Personality encompasses the way an individual interacts with people and environment.

There have been many theorists who have given different models to study personality. Some have differentiated people as having different personality types while some have given the trait model of personality. There are five major traits which help us to distinguish between people’s personality types. These fie traits are- Extraversion, Neuroticism, Agreeableness, Openness to experience and Conscientiousness.

An individual who scores high on extraversion trait is found to be more sociable and outgoing in comparison to a person who is more of an introvert. Such individuals seek or turn to others to get a high in their lives. They are said to be the party animals, who want to socialize.

Similarly, an individual who is agreeable tends to be more cooperative and polite. Individuals who are more open to experience have a broad range of interests and are more sensitive than others. Conscientious individuals are task-focused and orderly where as neurotic individuals are prone to experiencing negative emotions in comparison to non-neurotic individuals.

1. When I took a personality test, my scores indicated that I am extroverted and open to experience but at the same a little closer to being neurotic. I am more task focused and orderly to an extent of being OCD at times.

The five weaknesses I have based on my personality scores is that I am very much task focused and at times loose the track of time. I am unable to decide how much I will take to complete a task, so I suffer from planning fallacy. Being highly agreeable I focus more on the feelings of others and at times take incorrect decisions which lead me to experience more negative emotions than others.

2. The way a person dresses to a large extent is a manifestation of his/ her personality traits. An open person will have a broader range of interest and therefore would like to experiment more with their looks. The same is true for an extroverted individual.

3. Well, I think because of being an extravert I would prefer a particular perfume for myself.
