The role of a program manager is to organize the programs and activities in the organization. Developing the programs relates to the organization’s strategic decisions that create and manage the organization’s long term goals. The role is operational as the person is responsible for planning and governance and thereby oversee them in order to deliver the program’s output/product successfully. A successful program manager will be having notable experience in program management and team management. Some of the responsibilities of the program manager include:

• Daily program management to produce accurate and timely reports throughout the program life cycle.
• Defining program governance in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
• Planning the overall program and monitoring its progress to ensure project goals are achieved;
• Managing the program’s budget to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of services;
• Analyzing program risks.
• Developing and implement evaluation methods to assess the program’s strengths in order to identify areas for improvement.
• Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements;
• Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies;
• Managing and utilizing resources across projects;
• Managing stakeholders’ communication and making them easy and transparent in terms of project issues and decisions on services;
• Aligning the deliverables based on the program’s “outcome” with the assistance of the business change manager;
• Managing the program documentation like program initiation document, etc.,
