1. Age 54 is considered as advanced maternal age which is a risk factor for labour dystocia.

2. Client is over weight also (has a body mass index of 28 )- Obesity or overweight also a risk factor

3. Client has previous history of infertility, also a risk factor

4. Administration of oxytocin alone is not a risk factor. Risk occurs only with over administration or uterine hyperstimulation.

5. Potassium level of 3.6 mEq/ L is normal

Fluid electrolyte imbalance is a risk factor here potassium level with in the normal range.(3.6 to 5.2 millimoles per liter (mmol/L)

Labour dystosia is one where in spite of good uterine contractions, the progressive descent of presenting part is arrested due to mechanical obstruction. This may result either from the faults in the fetus or in the birth canal or both, so that further progress is almost impossible without assistance.
