How do you think the subjective norm constructs adds to the Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior Model ?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behaviour describes the behavioral intentions, attitude, and beliefs of individuals towards the others. As per reasoned theory, suppose my belief is that if I will not stop smoking then my good friends will leave me and I will be alone in my life. Then I should reduce smoking day by day. Thus this indicates that what I think about others with whom I am liked and what will be effects or their presence and absence.

Through this theory, several predictions can be made. Recently several studies have been found that theory of planned behavior is very useful in the prediction of the health-related behavior in compared to the theory of reasoned planned behavior. Theory of Planned Behaviour can be useful in the prediction of several health-related fields including regular exercise, diet, use of condom etc. intentions can be easily predicted. It can be useful in the prediction of antisocial behavior. Applications of these models have been increasingly in research and development in natural resources which are linked with the human attitudes and behavior. Although several models have been set for the predictions of behavior, thinking and attitude of human beings we cannot validate these data with the scientific evidence tools.
