If you were an HCA executive, what would have been your ethical obligation to prevent or report the fraudulent activities? What does ACHE’s Code of Ethics say about this?
1.HCA executives collect information about the patients medical condition ,history and medication to provide quality care.They understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality of the information collected and its sensitivity.They work in collaboration with the HIPAA and hence tend not to disclose any personal health information of the patient unless it pertains to law.They have developed various policies to combat against malpractices.If anyone came to know about any fraudulent activities within their their konwledge it should be reported immediately to a supervisor.HCA executives checks regularly whether any of its colleagues tampers with the medical code.HCA executives may use the confidential information only to perform their job responsibilities.The HCA executive seeks assistance from ethic resources whenever there is ethical uncertainity.They will continually evaluate organizational process to refine from ethical issues.HCA continiously strive hard to ensure that ethic resources are able to adress a broad range of ethical concerns.
2 According to ACHE (American College of Health care Executives) believes that inorder to provide life long commitment to high ethical conduct ,health care executives need education in ethics,for developing both personsally and professionally.Therefore ACHE supports the development of resources which enable the health care executive to adress ethical conflicts.
