discharge teaching for mother whose son had a circumcision is as follows:

Circumcision is a surgical procedure to remove the baby's foreskin.

The mother has to be properly councselled before discharge, about what to expect, medications, how to take proper care, to ensure hygeine, following up, and about in what condition she should immediately seek medical help.

1. changing the bandage:

if the baby has gauge bandage, the mother should change the bandage everytime she changes the diaper,

or if plastic ring device is put, let it fall naturally i about 7to 10 days, if it falls before 2 days, tell her to seek medical help immediately.

2. ensure proper sanitisation:

in oreder to avoid infections, diaper should be changed everytime the baby urinates or has bowel movement.

if there is  stool around the circumscribed area iclean it gently with warm water and soft towel and not dry it with towel, and apply petroleum jelly everytime the diaper is changed for about 10 to 14 days.

3. tell her not to panic when she sees following things:

baby should cry while urinating, sweeling is absolutely normal, sometime coating of blood can also be seen, give pain killer if needed, also tip  can get blue or green, which is absolutely normal.

4. tell her to follow up after 15 days if everything goes normal,

but if there is alot of swelling fever, heavy discharge, no urination for 8 to 9hrs, heavy bleed, tell her to serk medical help immediately.

5.medication: in order to relieve pain ibuprufen or acetaminophen should be given every 4 to 6 hrs after thw surgery, and as required after that also.
