Developmental continuum: it is the expected sequence of learning by the child as cognitive learning patterns.
For example motor skills of the children indicating physical and mental growth status as per the growing asge pattern.
Normal development: its ontime typical physical, social and cognitive devlopment of child.
Example is smiling of the six week old baby.
Developmental delay may be the developmental disabilities as considered with respect to time. For example learni g disability.
Atypical development isconsidered when normal course of development is not followed. For example:extreme shyness.
Biological risk any hazard or the adverse effect caused by the biological factors. For example: airborne pathogenic diseases.

Nurturance: is the physical as well as emotional care and nourishment provided to child. Example: Affection and care of father to the child.
Irreversible developmental problem: is any phychological disturbance which can harm to the development of the brain: Example: negative emotions of the children in the orphanages.
Gifted child: a child born with high mental ability example: child having excellent memory and cognitive skill as compaired to the same age group of other children
