A hysterectomy is an operation to remove a woman's uterus.Because your uterus is removed, you no longer have periods and cannot get pregnant. But your ovaries might still make hormones, so you might not have other signs of menopause. You may have hot flashes, a symptom of menopause, because the surgery may have blocked blood flow to the ovaries.Most women go home 2-3 days after this surgery, but complete recovery takes from six to eight weeks. During this time, you need to rest at home. You should not be doing housework until you talk with your doctor about restrictions.
The common side effect you might experience are Injury to nearby organs.,Anesthesia problems, such as breathing or heart problems.,Blood clots in the legs or lungs.,Infection.,Heavy bleeding,Early menopause, if the ovaries are removed,Pain during sexual intercourse.
