What are those in the Building Blocks of OB in organisational
behaviour science?
Give each explanation.
Organizational
behavior: The field of study which investigates the
effect that individuals, groups, and structures have on behavior
inside the organization.
It aims to apply such knowledge for the improvement of
organizational effectiveness.
Building blocks
of Organizational behavior are:
i). Psychology: The study of mind and behavior,
conscious and unconscious phenomenon, feeling, and thoughts is
known as psychology. It helps to explain processes within a person
and the reason behind particular behavior or feel.
ii). Sociology: The study of social life,
change, cause, and consequence of human behavior is sociology. It
is an interaction between individuals and the structure.
It considers the culture of the organization and change, the theory
of formal organization, technology, communication, power, and
conflicts in the organization.
iii). Social psychology: The study of how
thoughts, feelings, and behavior of people are impacted by the
actual, imagined, or implied presence of others.
It blends sociology and psychology which means how people have an
impact on each other.
iv). Anthropology: It is the study of humanity, groups of people their fundamental values, attitude, culture, etc. between people of different countries and within the organization.
v). Political science: It is the study of
individuals or groups within a political environment. It helps in a
better understanding of the dynamics of power centers, structuring
of conflicts, tactics of resolving conflicts, power allocation, how
to manipulate power for the self-interest of individuals.
