They are having a health fair and want you to speak about nutrition and health – with a specific emphasis on teaching healthy eating habits to help avoid childhood obesity. There are two techniques to findout body composition in rural
school students..it is easy and cost saving and less time
consumption method called skinfolds and bio-electrical
impedance(BIA)..this all gold standard methods of assessing body
composition..This is most feasible in school setup..
skin folds: This can be measured through skinfolds thickness
measurements in the common parts..it is stable and confidential
one..
Bio-electrical impedence is a easy assessable and provide immediate
feedback for the students..it is easy portable one..and time saving
method..this measurements can be done with student
age,gender,height and weight..
Presentation for elementary school students about nutrition and
health and how to eat healthy diet must be with practical education
instead of verbal..so teaching method must be like chart
presentation or drama presentation will be helpful..
-advice about green vegetables and fruits..by showing them
particular fruits and vegetables they can get the information
easily..And advice about how to avoid junk food and fatty diet
through picture education..
-advice about outdoor activity instead of indoor games..by getting
good physical activity they can get good appitite and easy
digestion also will be there..and it will help them to loose their
weight..
-education about avoid watching television and mobile during their
food time..it cause over eating and chance of increasing their
weight..
Healthy diet can help preventing problems like heart
disease,obesity,diabetes mellitus etc..healthy diet must included
with balanced diet with pproper nutrition and energy..
