SMOKING ON DIGESTION
Smoking affects the entire body increasing the risk of many human beings by threatening conditions like lung cancer,heart attacks,liver and lung cancer.
The digestive system is made up of gastrointestinal tract the liver gall bladder and pancreas,the mouth ,oesophagus ,small intestine ,by smoking it led to increase the risk of cancers .
smoking contributes to many common disorders of the digestive system such as heartburn,GERD,peptic ulcers,and some of liver diseases,it also increases the risk of crohns diseases,colon polyps and pancreatitis.
GERD IS persistant reflux that occurs more than twice a week,it leads to serious health problems such as bleeding ulcers in oseophagus.
Smoking increase the risk of peptic ulcer,these ulcers are caused by helicobacter pylori,by smoking it increases the risk of h pylori infection and it also increses the slow healing process of ulcer.
Smoking does not been shown to increase acid production,it increses the production of other substances that may harm the lining such as pepsin,an enzymethat break down proteins
Smoking decreaes the flow rate of blood ,secretion of mucus and production o sodium bicarbonate that increases the harm of lining of the mucus.
SMOKING WORSEN the liver diseases like cirrhosis that slowly destroys the bile ducts in the liver.
Smoking cause irrritation in gasterointestinal tract which led to further crohns disease.,this diesese cause pain ,diarrhea,smoking persons also develop colon polyps which led cancerous condition,and also led pancreatitis.
Quitting smoking can reverse some condition of digestive system.
