An organic organizational structure is defined as a massive horizontal reporting structure within an organization. The organic organizational structure is described as flat communication processes structure where there is low specialization but knowledgeable procedures whenever useful with a decentralized work environment with formal or informal decision making.

The mechanistic structure is basically a commonly used business structure for a manufacturing environment and said to be a bureaucratic structure as it hires highly centralized authority. It has the features of a set of procedures, rules, and regulations that are implemented in this type of organization. Here, decisions are taken by top management with formal procedures and rules. This type of organization holds specialized functions and employees are being asked to work independently and separately with each person given the task.

Basically, the mechanistic structure is adopted by only those companies or corporations which use centralized authority and are workable in a stable environment. The best example where the mechanistic structure is followed is colleges and institutions. It is intended to not adopt changes in structure frequently and so do colleges and universities tend to do as we can see the follow strict procedures, really allow their students to adapt changes while enrolling, most students are seen showing loyalty by strictly following the rules set by the top management.

Google Corporation is an incredible example of an Organic structure because the employees over there are motivated to utilize productive problem-solving skills and develop modern products.
