serum sickness
rejection of foreign tissue graft
Hypersensitivity is of 4 types :- type 1, type 2, type 3 and type 4.
Type 4 Hypersensitivity is mediated by CD4+T Cells and CD8+ T Cells.
CD4+ T Cell mediated Hypersensitivity is in autoimmunity. ( Contact sensitivity ).
CD8+T Cell mediated Hypersensitivity acts against viral infection , tumor cells and graft rejection.
Therefore, contact sensitivity , elimination of tumor cells, rejection of foreign tissue graft is by type 4 Hypersensitivity.
Serum sickness is by type 3 Hypersensitivity.
