Evidence based practice seeks to replace as usual , with practice guided by rigorous outcomes oriented research , ideally randomized controlled trial ,. It also seeks to make a practice a less subjective enterprise , and to raise it to a higher level of accountability . It is associated with efforts to identitfy best practice in nursing and other disciplines. |

STEPS OF EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE
Evidence based practice is throughtful itegration of the best avialable evidence, coupled with clinical expertise . As such it enable health practitioner of all varieties to address healthcare questions with an evaluative and qualitative approach . Evidence based practice allows the practitoner to assess current and past research , clinical guidelines and other information resources in order to identify relvant . Literature while differentiating between high quality and low quality findings .
The practice of Evidence based practice includes the five fundamental steps .;-
STEP 1;- formulating a well built question
STEP2 ;- collecting the most relevant and the best evidencec to answer the clinical question including searching for systematic reviews identifying articles.
STEP3;- Critically apprasing the evidence that the has been collected for the its validity , relevance and applicabillity
STEP4;- integrating the evidence with ones clinical expertise , assessment of patient's condition and available haelth care resources along with the patient preference and values to implement the evidence .
STEP5 ;- Evaluating the change resulting from application of evidence in practice . determines the areas for improvement .
