The objective of implementing an evidence based practice in health care is to ensure that brongs the required change in the targeted organization . In health care introduction of evidence based solutions aims at improving the quality of care offered to patients and enhancing the treatment outcomes. Morevere , minimizing the cost of heath care is also becoming an important consideration in the implementation og evidence based practices in healthcare setting. Evaluation is crucial to establish whether the organization has successfully adopted the anticipated changes in its operations. For this reason, it is important to apply an evaluation technique that is capable of measuring the anticipated changes in health care setting.

My evidence based project aimed at implementation of prewarming techniques in health care institutions to reduce unintended peri operative hyperthermia and the adverse healrh outcomes associated with the condition among surgical patient in hospital setting. To establish the effectiveness of the implemented evidence based intervention in the hospital, a thorough evaluation plan that described and identified the anticipated variables and outcomes of the intervention was developed.

One of the anticipated outcomes for the projects was adoption/application of prewarming techniques in the prevention of hyperthermia among surgical patients. The second anticipated outcome was for nurses to comprehend and know how to apply prewarming techniques among patients in the surgical setting. Another measure of the effectiveness of the evidence based practice was on the patient outcomes.

One method that would facilitate in determination of the effectiveness of the evidence based practice is summative evaluation. It is essentially a systematic mechanism that enables collection and analysis of data on the effects/impacts of an intervention, output, and outcomes during implementation . This method would therefore help in measuring and determining the success, efficacy and cost implications of my evidenced based projects in the healthcare organization.
