What catalytic role(s) does rRNA play in protein synthesis? What are the A, P, and E sites on the ribosome? What is their function? How is the tRNA delivered to the ribosome?
1.rRNA associates with the set of proteins to form ribosomes.these complex syructures which physically move along an mRNA molecules in 5'to 3' direction, catalyse the assembly of amino acids into protein chains.
2the ribosomes has 3trna binding sites
P site- it holds the trna molecules that is linked to the growing end of the polypeptide chain.
A site- holds the incoming trna molecules charged with an.amino acid.
E sites- deacylated tRNA exits via the E site, also called the exit site .
4.trna is charged with the aminoacyl-AMP in the presence of amino acyltrna synthethase.the initiator tRNA carries a methionine residue that initiates the protein synthesis.it recognises the AUG codons within the partial P site The initiation factor IF2 places the initiator factor IF2 places the trna into the ribosomes.
