A person has one heart attack. He is very fond of Chinese food and has it once in a week. The doctor told him to eat healthy. But he really wants to keep at least one Chinese food night in a week. That is why he schedule an appointment with a dietician. How can a dietician help him keep their “Chinese food nights.”?
A person who has had a heart attack should choose his food wisely. It should be fat-free or low fat and otherwise healthy. Like any other cuisine, Chinese cuisine can also be broadly classified as unhealthy junk food and healthy nutritious food. The fact is that having healthy Chinese food once a week is actually good for any health condition. The nutrient-rich salmon and vegetable soup has an advantage of getting omega 3 fatty acids from the salmon along with other health benefits of this soup. Researchers have found that people with at least once a week intake of omega 3 fatty acids containing fish have significantly reduced risk of heart attack. Omega 3 fatty acids decrease plaque formation in arteries by preventing the buildup of cholesterol. The healthy Chinese food also contains a variety of steamed dumplings, which have been found to be quite heart-healthy as they are fat-free with the goodness of a variety of beans and vegetables. So the dietician can advise the patient to have salmon and vegetable soup with steamed dumplings with bean and vegetables for his Chinese food night once a week.
