medical management
- chemotherapy-use of drugs that kills cancer
cells
- ABVD- common regimen. i.e, Adriamycin( doxorubicin), bleomycin
vinblastine, dacarbazine (DTIC)
- BEACOPP (bleomycin, etoposide, Adriamycin, cyclophosphamide,
oncovin, procarbazine, Prednisone)
- Side effects:-
- Hair loss
- Mouth sores
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Immunodeficiency
- Bleeding
- Fatigue
- Radiation therapy (RT)
- Radiation therapy alone or followed by chemo is done
- External beam radiation is delivered at the site
- ISRT ( involved site RT)
- IFRT ( involved field RT)
- Extended field radiation
- Total body irradiation
- Side effects:-
- Skin changes at radiation site
- Feels tired
- Dry mouth
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Immunotherapy
Monoclonal antibodies attack cancer cells but ignore normal
cells
- Brentuximab vedotin ( anti - CD30)
- Side effects:-nerve damage, low blood cell counts, fatigue,
fever, nausea and vomiting, Infection, diarrhea
- Rituximab(CD-20)
- Side effects:- chills, fever, nausea, rashes, fatigue,
headaches
- Stem cell transplant Timon

- Allogeneic ( blood stem cells from other person in
relation)
