1Most of the health care problems can be tackled by the nursing work force.Current population is strained by an ageing population .The number of nurses entering into the workforce has mushroomed over the past few years.RN s are assuming three important emerging care functions such as managing the care of patients with chronic disease by helping them with behaviour change and adjusting their medications as per the physician -written protocols. This helps to lead complex care management teams to help improve care and reduce the cost of care for patients with multiple diagnosis as well as co-ordinating care between the primary care home and providers of other health care services.

2 Nurse educators are compelled to prepare nurses who can meet the health care needs of the individual, families and communities.Cultural competence is a process and the culturally competent nurse strives throughout his career to continue to develop cultural knowledge and provide culturally competent care.patient outcomes are improved when nurses speak the same language or demonstrate culturally competent care

3 Organizations must provide in-house training and tools to achieve a diverse, educated and tolerant work force to serve a multicultural community. The demand for nurses is rising. But the health care organization is also struggling to retain the nurses on staff. One of the main reason for the RN to leave workplace is due to workload and staffing.Issues and dissatisfaction are unique at every organization.Understanding the reasons why RN are leaving the organization is the first step on the path to impacting nursing retention.Compensation and benefits is another most frequent cause that RN leave
