Weevils

            Usually weevils are insects which gets into our house true groceries. Usually they burrow into groceries and lay their eggs. Thus it contaminates our groceries.

Controlling : by avoiding unsealed dry fruits, corn meal, rice, oats, pasta and pre packed things which donot have sealed pouches inside. Avoid all the boxes of sealed items like soup mixes or gelatin , because weevils could enter the boxes to hide. Thus it can contaminate our food. Through out the affected foods and clean the pantry shelves and you can also spray household organic insecticide around the place. Why I use these methods because they are easy to implement, nowadays organic insecticides are available by using these organic insecticide we can also protect ourselves from harmful poisons.

Cockroach

It is common household insect. It spread various diseases and damage our household items.

Controlled methods : The best way to prevent cockroaches from house is clean the kitchen and bathroom. Also vacuum the entire area and use a strong soap. Use organic insecticides. Destroy their food sources by cleaningup immediately after meals and throwing out the waste items daily. Why I use this method because they are easy to implement not harmful to humans.

Ants

Ants are common pest. Like all pests, ants require food and water to survive; by eliminating these basic necessities you can greatly reduce their numbers. Common methods to avoid these insects are :

1. Store food and organic wastes in sealed containers, clean up all kitchen surfaces and empty trash daily.

2. Caulk cracks and crevices around foundations and apply spray to door and window jams to prevent entry from outside.

3. Organic insect killer granules.

Most of these methods are easy to implement, less economic and not poisonous to human beings.

Mosquitoes

The first line of defense against mosquitos is to seal their point of entry. Mosquitos are most active in the early morning and early evening. Close the windows and doors on the side of your house opposite the breeze.

1. Removing standing water sources is the most important measure you can take to curb the proliferation of mosquitos around your house. Change birdbaths, wading pools, and pets’ water bowls twice a week. Keep your eaves troughs clean and well draining. Remove yard items that collect water.

2. Plants like marigold, tulsi, lemon grass and neem oil prevents mosquito.

These methods are cost effective and harmless to environment.

Flies

Flies are a nuisance around the home that bring along with them the threat of germs and disease. The first line of defence is preventing flies from entering your home. This includes sealing up doors, windows, and roof vents, and washing fruit and other produce when it comes into your home to eliminate any eggs it may be carrying.

            Mint, bay leaves, basil are commonly used controlling methods. Sanitation is the most effective and important step in reducing pest numbers. These methods are cost effective and harmless to environment.
