Solutions

Expert Solution

Proliferation of nuclear weapons is moving with massive speed. It is estimated over 28,000 nuclear weapons are available with countries which are part of nuclear club. Furthermore, 15 countries possess uranium which can be used to make nuclear weapons in near future. Hence, race of creating nuclear weapons is threat to global stability.

On other side, there is a group which contends that proliferation of nuclear weapons is good for averting war like situation. Nuclear weapons act as deterrent and help to reduce possibilities of war and strife. If all countries possess nuclear weapons, then no country would ever try to attack other country for fear of nuclear war which would bring about untold destructions and consequences.

But here recent examples and instances in international politics suggest that nuclear race would prove highly destructive in future. North Korea is an example of rogue country which can use its nuclear weapons for destroying neighboring countries. Further, nuclear race between china and USA suggests that third world war may erupt in future if both countries continue to make nuclear weapons.

Hence, right path would be to stop such practices of creating human destruction materials. All countries must sign NPT treaty so that no further nuclear weapons are created and existing weapons should be disposed off.
